How the Gemini Referral Program Works

Gemini is a New York-regulated exchange founded in 2014 by Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Its referral programme pays both sides $50 in the crypto of their choice, but only in the United States, Hong Kong and New Zealand.

The new user signs up through the referral link, verifies with an ID and trades at least $100 within 30 days. Any revenue-generating trade counts; deposits and withdrawals don't.

After 32 days the reward is processed for both sides, in whichever crypto each person has selected, and usually lands within about 2 days. An inviter can earn up to $1,500 in total from referrals.

How to Apply the Gemini Code

  3. Trade at least $100 within 30 days.
  4. Pick the crypto you want the reward in.

The reward depends on signing up through the referral link. Gemini doesn't describe adding a referrer to an existing account.

Who Can Use It: Eligibility and Countries

The referral programme runs only in the United States, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Gemini closed all customer accounts in the UK, the EEA and Australia on 6 April 2026 (they were withdrawal-only from 5 March), and its referral and promotion programmes there have ended. That's why Gemini doesn't appear on our EU pages, even though ESMA's register still lists its Maltese MiCA entity.

Local rules: Availability depends on where you live, not on the code. In the US and UK many global exchanges either run a separate local entity or do not accept new clients, and the UK FCA requires crypto promotions to come from authorised or registered firms. Always check the exchange's list of restricted countries before you deposit.

No. Gemini closed all UK, EEA and Australian accounts on 6 April 2026 and ended its referral and promotion programmes there.

When is the Gemini referral bonus paid?

After the 30-day trading window; Gemini processes it 32 days after sign-up, usually within about 2 days.

Do deposits count toward the $100?

No. Only revenue-generating trades count toward the $100 requirement.

Does using a Gemini referral code cost anything?

No. The referrer is paid by Gemini out of the trading fees, not by you. Codes that share part of that commission with you (a "kickback" or fee rebate) can actually lower your fees.

Can I use more than one code?
