How the OKX Referral Program Works

OKX, founded in 2017, is a large global exchange with spot, derivatives and a self-custody Web3 wallet. Its referral program pays the inviter per qualifying friend and enrols you in OKX's new-user bonus scheme.

OKX's referral FAQ (updated October 2026) doesn't publish a fixed amount: rewards depend on the campaign running at the time and are shown in the app. To count, the invited friend must complete advanced identity verification and the campaign tasks, with trading tasks due within 14 days of sign-up. The inviter's reward is locked for 7 days and capped per campaign cycle, and invites across regions (for example from Asia-Pacific to the EEA, or between Brazil and other countries) earn the inviter nothing.

Many codes on code sites are affiliate codes that promise a fee rebate (15–20%) instead of vouchers. OKX lets affiliates share part of their commission, so these rebates can be real, but the exact percentage depends on the code owner and is not something we could verify.

Referral Code or Welcome Bonus?

You don't give anything up by using a code. OKX's referral FAQ says an invited friend automatically joins the New User Bonus Program, so the welcome tasks still apply. What those tasks pay differs by region and campaign, and the app shows the current version.

How to Apply the OKX Code

1. Open the referral link or copy the code.
2. If the sign-up form already shows a different code (a link opened on your device in the last 30 days can stick), register in a private browser window and check the code before you continue.
3. Register on okx.com; the code can't be added or changed once the account exists.
4. Complete identity verification: personal details, an ID document, a selfie and, where required, proof of address. OKX reviews it within 24 hours.
5. Do the tasks shown on the referral page. Trading tasks have to be done within 14 days of sign-up.

Forgot the Code? Adding It Later

OKX states that a referral can only be applied at sign-up. Existing accounts cannot be linked to a referrer afterwards.

Who Can Use It: Eligibility and Countries

The global OKX platform does not serve the US (a separate OKX US exists) or Ontario, has limits for retail clients in Singapore, and excludes sanctioned countries. Rewards and products differ by region.

Local rules: Availability depends on where you live, not on the code. In the US and UK many global exchanges either run a separate local entity or do not accept new clients, and the UK FCA requires crypto promotions to come from authorised or registered firms. Always check the exchange's list of restricted countries before you deposit.
